Master Dog Breeders Association Registration 17602
The Australian Cobberdog has a beautiful origin of a mother-daughter duo who carefully selected infusions from their root stock of the authentic Australian Labradoodle.
Through enormous love, dedication and time, the Australian Cobberdog has been further developed by a core group of foundation breeders, who have as their primary focus, the health and temperament of the dogs whilst striving toward the long term vision for the breed.
Foundation breeders made many hard decisions to ensure the health, predictability of temperament, characteristics and management requirements of their breed have been optimised. For the Australian Cobberdog, it is all working towards a canine companion that is more reliably suited to Service, Therapy and Assistance work. It's ancestors have been selected for what they were able to contribute to make the breed happen.
The Australian Cobberdog was accepted as a new breed in development in January 2012 by the Master Dog Breeders and Associates (MDBA) a worldwide breed registry.

Apricots and Golds are fascinating colours that continue to flourish over time, and infuse 'iced' and 'warm' Caramels into the coat. The sun kissed natural highlights create a rainbow of Rose Golds which are stunning.

The magnificent aspect about the Chocolate and Brown Cobberdog's are that they develop gorgeous sun kissed tips over time. A natural highlight that truly attracts onlookers.
Ravens are a stunning jet black while Black Cobberdog's have some chocolate undertones around their gorgeous face. The pigment of their adorable eyes and nose is always black.
The Parchment Cobberdog start from a chocolate tiger colour, and progressively change each year. The brown stays delicately around their head, ears, face and legs. The rest of the body matures into a blended milky colour. Parchments have the appearance of a mauve pink in different lights which is very special.
This is what we strive for in our Wallaby Way breeding program. A soft and silky coat with very low to non shedding hair.
These Cobberdog's have a more tightly weaved coat, which is not as soft as the wavy fleece, but still maintain a low shedding coat.
If you are wanting to enjoy your Cobberdog's luscious locks in their full glory, a little more care is needed on your part. But with one or two good brushing sessions through the week, and maintenance of sanitary areas, you should be able to maintain your Cobberdog's long hair without too much of a problem. If it works out for you or your family to have a half clip, this is also a great option. Please don't think of this grooming time as a chore, this is an incredible bonding experience that will become treasured time between you and your pup. Your Cobberdog will absolutely love you, and you will equally love the experience of your little Cobber falling asleep in your arms.
